‍Yura Health is a healthcare platform designed to provide users with transparent pricing for medical procedures based on their insurance information, aiming to be a "super app" for healthcare operations.

Challenge:

‍Patients often face uncertainty regarding medical costs due to opaque pricing structures. Yura Health wanted to integrate insurance data to show exact costs before booking appointments, similar to the integrated experience provided by systems like Kaiser Permanente.

Solution:

• Developed a platform where users could input their insurance information and search for healthcare services.
• Integrated with federal databases like the National Provider Identifier (NPI) and machine-readable healthcare transparency data.
• Displayed exact out-of-pocket costs for medical procedures based on users' insurance plans and deductibles.
• Built the system using React for the frontend and Python for the backend.

Results:

• Launched a functional component of the platform, allowing users in the DC Metro area to find care with transparent pricing.
• Facilitated informed decision-making for patients, enhancing the healthcare experience.
• Although significant funding was not secured, the platform remains active and continues to serve users.
